A delight and surprise to see this old bird again! I watched her restoration when I lived in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida back in the late 1980's. I watched as they flew her out of there and struggled with those tempermental Wright engines. But alas, it was those engine troubles that brought her to this "museum". Kool!

This genuine Luftansa Starliner (D-ALAN) was still in Polk City in January 2008, soon after having been rebought by the german airline, along with 2 ex-TWA aircraft. One of them will be restored by Lufthansa Teknik in order to fly again in 2010. D-ALAN will only be used for parts.
